Transnistria trail

Leaving Transnistria, entering Transylvania (Sibiu, via Bucurest) I can not stop thinking about what it would be like to live in a country that does not exist, that is not recognized by anyone. A country where stamps are only useful if you want to send a postcard to your next door neighbour, a country with a currency that could only be used within at the nearest shopping mall or bar, but not beyond.
Could you be happy in such a place?
